The climate, culture, and cost of living all make Grenada an ideal location for a superyacht’s home port or seasonal charter base. It enjoys a much lower crime rate than many Caribbean islands, and Grenada’s position south of the hurricane belt means it can be used year round.

Renting a house in an urban area costs around US$1200 to $3000 per month, and a villa approximately US$2500 a week. The rental cost of a typical family car is US$800 to $1000 per month and petrol is less than US$5 a gallon. A typical restaurant lunch will only set you back US$12 to $20.

Schooling in Grenada, both state and private, enjoys a high reputation in the region. St. George’s University was founded over 30 years ago as a School of Medicine. Since that time the University has added a School of Veterinary Medicine and a School of Arts and Sciences which includes an internationally focused MBA programme.
