The area is famous for its yachting events, especially the Port Louis Grenada Sailing Festival which runs out of the marina every January and features racing and cruising yachts as well as local work boats.

Yacht Racing in the Grenadines

This is part of the Southern Circuit of Regattas, which starts in early January with the Carriacou Series Regatta and includes the new Tobago Carnival Regatta in February.

Also in February is the Grenada Classic Yacht Regatta, following in the footsteps of its sister regatta in St. Maarten and the well-established Antigua Classic. Then in March there’s a great day out with the Round-the-Island Race – clockwise round Grenada, starting and finishing just outside Port Louis

Further north in the Grenadines, the island of Bequia hosts its own Easter Regatta. And the season comes to a close closer to home at the Carriacou Regatta for locally built boats, which has been held every August for over 40 years.
